As a traditional sweet shop you'd expect us to sell sweets from the jar using single-serve gloves and paper bags. Well, the good news is that we do exactly that!
You might remember ordering sweets from your childhood, including two ounces of this or a quarter of that? We do the same today, only measuring out a minimum of 50 grams or the more usual 100 grams (we can give you a quarter if you really want it, which would be 113.398 grams).
You can choose combinations of 50 grams in a bag (or bags) or just go for a 100 grams - or more - of your favourite sweets each time. Most jar items cost £1.49 per 100 grams
We can make up any selection of sweets to suit all budgets, so, if you just wanted e.g. £4.00 worth of coconut mushrooms or £5.00 of liquorice torpedoes, we can do just that. If you prefer us to supply them heat-sealed in a plastic bag, we have a fabulous machine that helps us do that too!
The choice is huge. For starters, we have around 12 different kinds of bonbons, including cherry, vimto and tango, and 10 kinds of toffees, including mint, treacle, nutty Brazil and banana varieties,
If nuts are your thing, we have sweet peanuts or chocolate-covered peanuts and Brazils, or maybe you'd go for a combination with raisins or even dark chocolate coffee beans?
We sell 12 kinds of mints, including Black Bullets, Mint Imperials, Golden Humbugs and Speamint Chews. We also sell tins of mints including six flavours from Barkleys at £2.99 per tin.
For traditional boiled sweets, look no further than Chocolate Limes, Rhubarb & Custard, Barley Sugars, Acid Drops, Sugared Almonds or Cherry Lips. Equally, Almond Nougat, Coconut Mushrooms, Pear Drops or ABC Letters may spell successful treats for you. We do sell Candy Sticks but aren't allowed to call them Sweet Cigarettes anymore. How I miss those little red tips.
If you're feeling a bit throaty we have Grays Herbals, Army & Navy and Kop Kops, or Jakemans menthol sweets.
Sherbets include Sherbet Lemons, of course, but why not try Orange, Strawberry, Blackcurrant or Lime alternatives?
For those living on solids, we have Coltsfoot Rock, Pineapple Rock, Edinburgh Rock and, ahem, Blackpool Rock. If you are a Cubist, we have Kola Cubes, Pineapple Cubes, Sour Apple Cubes and Blue Raspberry (formerly known by the colour pink) Cubes.
For children, Dolly Mixtures and Dew Drops are still as popular as ever. Gummies include Jelly Babies, Jelly Beans - including from the Jelly Bean Factory - Midget Gems, Wine Gums and, of course, Gummy Bears. We also have a colourful selection of pips - from Cola through to Sherbet and Bubblegum
We stock over 40 sugar-free jar items, including Fruit Salad Chews, Devon Toffees, Wine Gums and Chocolate Raisins.
If you're after something really strong then try our mega sour sweets - or 'no pain, no gain' section as we like to call it. Mr Simms Black Death and Red Death are strong favourites.
Ask us if we still have your favourite from the 200 jars we have on the shelves.
Many of our jar items are made by Barnetts of Nottingham. They've been making boiled sweets in open copper pans since 1896 and the quality today is as good as it ever was.
We sell traditional liquorice items such as Liquorice Allsorts, Torpedoes and Pontefract Cakes. Check out our liquorice page in this brochure for further choices.
If you want to go even further back in history, to the mid-nineteenth century, you'll find Fisherman's Friends and Victory Vs on our shelves too.
Fast forwarding to the twenty-first century, we have built a database of all of the sweets we sell, so can you tell you immediately which are sugar-free, dairy-free, gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan. You can then be assured of choosing those sweets that suit you best.
